  1. I was as lost as a goose in a snow storm trying to install XAMPP and Drupal before I watched this.  This was great; I did stumble by not running XAMPP as Administrator, but the light finally came on.

  2. Failed to connect to your database server. The server reports the following message: SQLSTATE[HY000] [1044] Access denied for user ''@'localhost' to database 'tommy'.

I get this message after i get to the data base configuration part,  Instead of naming my folder drupal i named it tommy

  3. Thank you! I was having the worst time trying to install Drupal on XAMPP and your video solved the simplest problem. Which for some reason I could not Google the answer. Yes, the volume was a little messed up, but some setting adjustments and it was no problem.

  4. I've installed a more updated version of Xampp than the one shown in this video and I had something different happen during the installation. I had a command prompt open up right before clicking the button to do the actual installation. The dir was set to my documents folder. I closed it and continued the installation. I just thought that was a little weird.

  5. I wanted to ask, would you recommend this way of installation (XAMP) for a professional community website? What about Acquia dev desktop? I have read that that one is suggested because it was made by the founder of Drupal (and thus I guess more secure).

What do you think? I am just trying to set up everything nice and safely and professionally.

Also, is the data center/date base dependent on the IP? I mean can you create more than one on same computer, or it is limited to only one per same IP? I am asking this as I am thinking to create one just for testing, to work around for practise, and then after when I feel more confident to create the formal/professional one.

    Thank you for the video
